Move Your Vowels

Move Your Vowels will get your wheels turning as you take a spin through three rounds of words and phrases. Each round brings words that are a little more challenging, so step on it!

The Move Your Vowels app game is also an excellent tool for homeschooling.

• You will see a word or phrase that is missing all of its vowels. You are given only the consonants to start. The object of the game is to drag the correct vowels from a letter pool to their proper placement in the word or phrase.


• The longer you take, the fewer points you get. Your score is based on the number of points remaining on the gas gauge at the time of correct completion.
• When you answer correctly, the next word comes up, your gas tank refills and the points reset. You cumulatively carry over any points earned in the previous rounds. If you drag the wrong vowel into a blank, it will snap back to the letter pool.
• The gas gauge continues to slide towards empty until the correct word is spelled or you run out of fuel.
• After a few seconds in each round, a helper clue will appear. To receive a bonus, complete the word or phrase before the clue comes up.
• There are three rounds:

  Round 1 has a couple of vowels to get you started
  In Round 2, we add a few more to make things interesting
  Put the pedal to the metal in Round 3 to take you down the stretch!
